Master student Tracy Wüsthoff joins the DCRT for an internship

Tracy is a master student at the University of Potsdam, pursuing a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She is currently conducting her thesis at the DCRT, where her project focuses on the development of allele-selective antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) to target a heterozygous variant in ACTL6B, which is linked to an intellectual development disorder. The aim of her research is to specifically inactivate the mutated allele while ensuring that the wild-type allele remains functional, as individuals carrying a heterozygous recessive mutation in ACTL6B do not exhibit symptoms.

Tracy completed her bachelor degree in Biochemistry at Freie Universität Berlin before continuing her master studies at the University of Potsdam.
