Annemieke Aartsma-Rus received the outstanding achievement award from the Dutch society of gene and cell therapy

The NVGCT is dedicated to promoting basic and clinical research in the field of gene therapy, cell therapy and genetic vaccines in The Netherlands since 1999.


On November 9 2021 Annemieke Aartsma-Rus, co-coordinator of the DCRT, received the outstanding achievement award from the Dutch Society of Gene and Cell Therapy from Rob Collin, board member of the Society and co-coordinator of the DCRT. Annemieke received this award for her pioneering work in developing exon skipping for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, helping others to initiate and further exon skipping for other genetic diseases and for her active role in networking with collaborators and patients.
